Most polluted Cities In The U.S. Bakersfield, Calif Tops The List

The top 10 most polluted cities in the United States list had been released.

 

 

Bakersfield, Visalia, Fresno, Modesto, San Francisco and Los Angeles are on the list, according to USA Today.

 

Only six of the most polluted metropolitan areas on the overall list had any days where pollution remained at healthy levels, and none of them were in the top 10 of most polluted cities.

 

The cleanest air in the country can be found in Bellingham, Washington; Cheyenne, Wyoming and the Albany, New York area.

 

The group said its report highlights the significant improvements made by the country to curb air pollution, and speaks to the importance of strengthening those efforts.

 

“Climate is emerging as a big problem, as it has in the last several years, but something we desperately need to do more about as a nation,” said Janice Nolen, assistant vice president of national policy for the American Lung Association.“We’re going to need every tool of what the Clean Air Act provides to us to make progress.”
