severe thunderstorm watch has ended for Saskatoon and much of west-central Saskatchewan.
The watch was issued Wednesday by Environment Canada, which said conditions were “favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.” The thunderstorm watch included Warman and area, Kindersley and area, Prince Albert and area, Outlook and area, and The Battlefords and area.
Only a wind warning for Lloydminster and a special weather statement for Buffalo Narrows, Peter Pond Lake, Ile-a-la-Crosse and Beauval remain.
Thunderstorms were expected to develop Wednesday afternoon in parts of central Saskatchewan, ahead of a cold front coming from the west, according to Environment Canada. “Some of these thunderstorms may become severe,” the agency noted.
