Psycho Teen Kills Mother with Dumbbell
Everett, Washington – Police have charged 16-year-old Brad George with first degree murder in the dumbbell beating death of his adoptive mother Georgina Latshaw this past week.
The teen himself phoned 911 Friday afternoon to report suspicious activity at his home. He claimed to be arriving from school to find the front door of the house open in the 15 degree weather and her vehicle in the driveway.
He told the 911 operator that she usually is not home so early and that he would not enter the home for fear of his safety.
Not long after police arrived, he was notified that she had passed away, but the savageness of the crime was not disclosed.
The teen even appeared on camera with his two grieving sisters to wonder out loud what kind of person could carry out such a brutality.
The door was open and her car was home and that never happens,’ said George to KIRO TV in what now appears to be a chilling interview given alongside his two sisters on Friday afternoon.
‘It is 15 degrees outside and my neighbors says the door has been like that for a while and I thought that was very suspicious.
‘So I called the house phone and no one was answering and I called 911.’
‘The police arrived and went upstairs and they came down and told me that my mom had passed away.
‘She has supported me my whole life. She always knew what was best for us. I don’t know who could have done this.
‘This doesn’t feel real, this all feels fake.’
It didn’t take police very long to start poking holes in his story and alibi. By Saturday, they arrested him.
He is currently undergoing a psych evaluation. It is not certain if he will be found mentally competent. He attempted to attack the nurse evaluating him with the wooden arm of the chair he sat in. He claims he stopped taking his mediation eight days before the attack.
George is being held on $500,000 bail. Prosecutors have until Wednesday to charge him with murder. If they do charge him, he will be automatically tried as an adult.
