The average scores among the 1.5 million students who took all 3 parts of the SAT exam, including the essay, were exactly the same as in 2007.

Thsi is according to the College Board, which owns and administers the test.

40% who took the SAT test were minorities, up from 33% a decade ago.

Breaking it down by minorities, white students di dbetter than Mexican American test-takers in reading.

Black students did a little worse than Mexican Americans, with a score of 438 on average compared to 446 for Mexican Americans.

For math, Asian Americans did the best with an average score of 564, compared to 549 for whites, and 453 for Mexican Americans, 429 for black students.
