Washington - According to a new poll, Republican presidential candidate John McCain is gaining on his rival, Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

The poll was released by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal, and has revealed that McCain has managed to cut Obama’s lead in half.

Obama, according to experts, has really lost all of the momentum that he had going into the summer months.

This news comes just days before the two candidates are set to reveal who their choices are to be vice president.

The survey has revealed that McCain is quickly gaining ground, as Obama holds just a 3-point lead over McCain, 45 to 42%.

This is down from Obama’s 47 to 41% lead he had last month.
