Washington – -During a question and answer session with John Kerry at the University of Florida Monday night police used a Taser on and then arrested a student when he got loud and police tried to control him.
Andrew Meyer, 21, questioned Kerry about why he did not contest the 2004 presidential election he lost to President Bush.
Meyer also wanted to know why actions hadn’t been taken to impeach President Bush.
University officials say Andrew’s allotted time was over and when his microphone was cut he became upset.
Police are charging Meyer with resisting arrest and disturbing the peace.
But University of Florida police are also investigating whether the officers were right to use the Taser.
Police say their internal investigation should take a few days.
If the officers were found to have acted inappropriately, they will be disciplined.
Video of the incident is sparking controversy and raising questions about whether the use of the Taser was appropriate.
