Washington (EON) – A county judge has set the bail for Norman Hsu, the Democratic fundraiser who is in trouble for investment fraud, at $5 million.
Mesa County Judge Bruce Raaum rejected the request by the prosecution to set the bail at $50 million. Hsu was ordered to be held over for a second extradition hearing before a state court judge.
They are going to decide whether or not he will be sent back for trial on his charges from 15-years ago in California.
Hsu’s attorney stated that the $50 million bail request was ridiculous. The judge stated that $2 million was not enough though and stated “We’ll see if $5 million will do it.”
He stated that “payments must be made in cash.”
Hsu is being held in Mesa County Jail where he was sent after being released from the hospital.
Hsu has been linked to giving money to the Hillary Clinton campaign as well as others.
