Washington (EON) – Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama came out on Wednesday with a major national security address detailing how to end the war in Iraq.
Obama stated that the first thing he would do would be to establish a working group who are dedicated to fixing the refugee crisis which is currently going on in Iraq. American investments in Iraq’s refugees would be increased to at least $2 billion to try and get them back into homes and shelter.
He also stated that he would secure more contributions from other areas of the region. This would take strain off of the United States as other countries would help with the economy, refugee care, etc.
Obama stated that he would appeal to try and expand the refugee quotas as to how many are allowed into America from Iraq.
Obama wants to create a new Constitutional convention and also sees Iran as a major threat due to their nuclear program and supporting of terrorism.
Obama stated “What’s at stake is bigger than this war: it’s our global leadership. Now is a time to be bold. We must not stay the course or take the conventional path because the other course is unknown.”
