Washington – Two unions have picked who they want in the White House… former Senator John Edwards. The Democratic presidential candidate is getting the nod from the United Steelworkers and the United Mine Workers of America. He’ll accept the endorsements today in Pittsburgh, home of the Steelworkers’ international headquarters.
Edwards says members of those two unions are some of the country’s hardest-working, bravest, most courageous workers, and their work helps build a stronger America.
This puts Edwards ahead of all other Democratic hopefuls in labor endorsements. The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America are also backing him.
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has been endorsed by the United Transportation Union and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
