Top Bush Aide Karl Rove Resigns

Washington (EON) – One of U.S. President George W. Bush’s closest advisers is set to resign as Karl Rove will leave the White House at the end of the month.
The news was confirmed to Reuters by a White House spokeswoman who stated that it was a “big loss” to lose Rove as he will leave in late August.
Rove stated that “I just think it’s time. There’s always something than can keep you here and, as much as I’d like to be here, I’v egot to do this for the sake of my family.”
Rove is the White House deputy chief of staff and is the latest in a series of Bush aides who have quit in the last few months.
Rove is one of the aides who Congress wanted to testify against the firings of nine U.S. prosecutors last year.
The reason for leaving now is that Rove was told along with all senior aides that if they stayed past early September, they would need to stay until the end of the Bush term in January 2009.
