Washington - Democrative presidential hopeful John Edwards tried to flip the attack by author Ann Coulter stating that his supporters should donate to his campaign in response to the “hateful” comments by the author.
Edwards spoke for the first time in regards to the attack by Coulter stating that she wished he would be “killed in a terrorist assassination plot.”
Edwards stated that he is encouraging his supporters to fight back by donating to the campaign. This is the second time Coulter has incidentally helped Edwards. Back in march when she called Edwards a “faggot”, Edwards used the video of the comment to raise $300,000.
Coulter made the comments on Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America. Edwards wants his supporters to defy these heinous remarks and help him reach his goal of raising $9 million in the second quarter.

Interesting how hateful comments from the left are the norm in the media, but any criticism from the right is immediately described as “hateful.”
The toxic venom which Edwards frequently spews towards people of disagreeing viewpoints is completely ignored by the press.

Remember folks, all the world’s a stage and we are but poor actors with sound and fury amounting to nothing!
We, as rational thinking beings have another alternative which is to stop listening to both Ann Coulter and Edwards. Or any other pair that enter such blather.
Our political considerations should be like any other employer, on the deeds that a candidate actually performed in their resume. And not on the cute and quick retorts to political drama.

It is interesting that Imus gets canned and Ann gets more media time….What is it that makes lawyers think they are above it all….One day she will be…..

Ann Coulter is a political pundit. She makes her living saying stupid things she doesn’t actually belive in order to make money. If you believe Coulter and Edwards are similar than you need to spend more time reading the newspaper and less time listening to Coulter.

I would like to see a law on the books that had a manditory 5 years plus 1 million dollar fine for spewing lies about candidates. Wait - we would have no one in Washington from the White House to the lowest politician, never mind.

Why would I want to stop listenting to John Edwards? And what, pray tell, “Patrick Henry”, has he ever said to compare to the vile and despicable words of Annthrax Coulter?
I’ll stop listening to her. I intend to keep listening to him, especially during his State of the Union addresses which I’m looking forward to eagerly.

Please give examples, Patrick.

Re: P. Henry’s comments, Coulter’s remarks would be deemed hateful no matter where they came from, since they weren’t criticism or even a personal attack.

In response to the post by Mr. Patrick Henry. Publicly expresing the hope/desire that a man would die by murder, and making reference in a hateful way to the death of that mans child is the act of a person whom all should deride, regardles of political ideology. Shame on you sir for trying to pass this off.

It is fine for gullible people to donate to Edwards’ campaign. It’s just that much more that doesn’t go to a bonafide candidate.

Doug, how can you possibly attempt an equivalence between Ann Coulter and John Edwards?
And Patrick, what are you talking about? There is no there there in you comment–it is completely a bald-faced lie with zero basis. You’ve learned from your guru Ann Coulter, apparently. The big, baseless lie will convince certain people no matter how bogus it is. Sheesh!
Coulter’s off-base, hateful attacks appeal in the same way and to the same types that Republican strategists Karl Rove, Lee Atwater and Roy Cohn have manipulated in the Republican base for generations. Look up what Atwater said on his deathbed.
Coulter is an evil, crazy slanderer, except in the heads of trailer-trash FOX-watching sycophants, who hear her articulate their own anxieties and bigotry in a way they can’t themselves.
Edwards is a politico, no doubt, but his heart is in a completely different place than the current cabal of inept, warmongering, corporate pawns who are currently running my country into the ground.
Americans have (finally) gotten wise to Coulter, and Cheney, O’Reily, and other forces of darkness. In ‘08 you can be sure Americans will reverse the downward spiral they have taken our culture by electing a president that will represent all of us, not just the wealthy.
It is so overdue. If you are an American in Canada, please be sure to register to vote, and vote for change.
