Baghdad (eCanadaNow) – Although the ID cards for two missing American soldiers in Iraq has been found, the search for the soldiers continue.
The U.S. military found the ID’s of Byron W. Fouty and Alex R. Jimenez in a terrorist safehouse last week, the military said.
“Bad news is good news,” said Wendy Luzon, a friend of the Jimenez family in Corona. “It’s better than not getting any news for weeks. Getting this news is something good. We keep hoping that he’s alive. We have nothing that tells us differently.”
The soldiers disappeared last month, reported CNN.
Shortly after the two soldiers went missing an Islamic militant group issued a video showing what appeared to be U.S. military identity cards.
The video announced the death of the two men, but offered no proof, said Brig. Gen. Kevin Bergner.
The video “doesn’t appear to contain any definitive evidence,” Bergner said in announcing the continued search for the soldiers.
