
New York – Apple could present next week an $800 laptop. Compared with recent offers of low-priced laptops, the price is anything but a bargain. But when compared with their own models of the, the price reduction is not trivial: it represents a 27% less than its current cheapest model.
Apple could make the public launch at a conference scheduled for Oct. 14 in Cupertino, California, whose motto is “the spotlight turns to notebook,” In principle, the fall in the price is justified by the economic crisis, while Apple aims to actually win power in the sale of laptops, which is largely surpassed by companies such as HP, Dell and Toshiba.
According to CNET, Apple has distributed to stores’ price lists that include new categories and numbers that start at about $800, while not include the technical specifications of products.
At present, Apple offers three models of laptop (MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro) with different memory options and prices ranging from 949 to 2403 euros.
Shares of Apple have shot down the last month, nearly 40% affected by the collapse of international stock exchanges.
