Overheating And Even Minor Burns Have Been Reported
Japan- The Sony Corporation has announced the recall of Sony Vaio TZ series notebooks, noting that there is a risk of overheating and a slight threat to health for those users that have purchased the notebook.
The notebooks are excellent products, according to Sony, but they have at times “irregularly situated wires,” that in certain cases and under certain conditions can cause a short circuit, and the build up of heat.
The TZ series of the Vaio notebooks has sold fairly well, and it has been one of the more popular brand logos and product lines that are offered by Sony.
The Vaio line has helped identify Sony and is known around the world as a rule for its quality and workmanship.
Sony has said that it is not all of the TZ Vaio line that has issues, but that enough of the laptops have had problems with their cable and wire locations and heat build up that Sony decided on the recall.
Included in the Vaio TZ line recall are the VGN-TZ100, VGN-TZ200, VGN-TZ300 and the VGN-TZ2000 series, all with the expanded and enhanced 11.1 inch screens.
The USA Consumer product safety commission has said to owners of these laptops that they should cease usage of them and stop plugging them in, and to contact Sony immediately for instructions on how to return these defective
Sony says they will take care to make sure all owners of the TZ laptops are compensated, either with a replacement or other consideration.
