Web Giant Ventures Into Electronic Democracy In Action
Washington, D.C.- Just when you thought you had reached saturation with the daily barrage or radio, print media and television, in addition to the talking heads that greet us every evening on Cable TV, you realize that there is still other sources you didn’t realize you missed.
One such source is the Internet.
Google, one of the largest players on the Internet has announced that it is setting up a mobile web site to prepare for the Presidential Elections.
The aim is to let a person link to results from McCain, or Obama with each type of specific search that they do, so that it’s not necessary to mention them by typing in individual names.
The Google Mobile Web News election site will have a special link that is affiliated with sites that only houses election referral or voter sites. These links will only have sites that are relevant to the different elections in one-way or the other.
One of the places that are already set up in this manner for the general public to find out the latest on McCain and Obama is Google Reader. It is a site designed to see what the presidential candidates are reading, and what items, books, periodicals or other sources of information that they are reading.
Google is suggesting that those delegates and attendees to the Democratic National Convention and the National Republican convention utilize their Google Map navigation sites to plan how to get to the events, and navigate in each of the convention cities.
