Collaboration Will Provide The Widget Channel And Internet TV
San Francisco, CA- Intel and Yahoo, Inc have announced plans to join together in a cooperative TV venture involving the Internet.
It is a venture that will allow viewers to email different people while watching TV, to trade market shares or check the weather using their TV in real time, all the time while watching programmes.
It will not be the same as the PC on TV offering that another company has produces, but a new venture coming at the issue from an entirely new direction.
The brand new Internet Services will be provided on a new set of Intel chips that are being designed exclusively for the online Internet purpose.
The new venture was unveiled for the first time at the Intel Development Forum held this week in San Francisco, California, where products from Intel are revealed along with different conferences and vendors that show their materials.
“This is not a PC on TV copy,†said Mr. Kim, the Intel head of Home Digital Products group.
Mr. Kim says that the goal is to unite TV and the Internet and that previous efforts have largely failed, so Yahoo approached Intel with some ideas which both companies then worked to refine and produce a plan.
The Internet and TV projects in the past have failed because it turned the Television into a glorified computer, and stopped people from viewing Television programmes.
