Computer Game Industry Files Suits Against As Many As 100 People
London-The game industry has begun to get tough against those people who share computer games illegally over the Internet.
A law firm based in London England has begun legal proceedings on behalf of their client Topware Interactive to prevent further illegal game sharing.
One woman who was not named has been fined six thousand pounds in damages and ten thousand pound in costs incurred to the Topware Interactive firm after she was found guilty in a London Court of uploading Dream Pinball 3D, a Topware Interactive software title.
File sharing networks have been destructive and caused damage to the media and entertainment industry, and companies that produce the software are starting to go after individuals that share software that is copyrighted on the Internet illegally.
Owners of computer games upload and copy their games to these networks, which allows other people to download the games and produce illegal copies and CD versions of these game titles.
Authorities have also been focusing on sharing music and illegal file sharing at large.
The Central London County Court has separately ruled against four people who have been found guilty to have infringed upon copyright laws by illegal sharing of software.
