Next Generation Of Computer Chip To Be Called Core i7
California-There are different chips based on the Nehalem structure, but the newest chip based on the Intel architecture will have a brand new name – The Core i7.
This will be the return to hyper threading, or two threads per chip core, and also will offer a on die memory controller, which is a feature sometimes offered by competitor, AMD.
The new Core i7 chip will also offer a new cache subsystem, and will be featured in different desktop processors using up to eight different processing cores, and utilized in different mobile processors as well.
Intel has not discussed specific products that will offer the new Core i7 chip, but it is expected it will be utilized at three different level speeds:Â Â 3.2 ghz, 2.93 ghz, and 2.66 ghz.
The 3.2 ghz speed is expected to be used in the Extreme Edition style processor, and will likely feature a stylish black Core i7 logo.
Core i7 is expected to be the first of several new computer chip names and designs unveiled by Intel over the next 12 months.
Intel has battled back in the last two years to take back much of the ground that it had lost to competitors such as AMD, and is poised to continue much of the dominance in the computing world that it has become known for.
