
New Internet Security Flaw Could Allow Hackers Network Access
Ottawa- There is a security risk on the horizon, according to experts that work with computers and computer networks, and it is a sizable one.
There is a flaw in one of the crucial systems that are used to route and reroute Internet Traffic, and exploiting it could allow hackers access to key computer networks.
The flaw is a big one, and it was discovered about six months ago, but members of the Internet and computer security community are wary about the risk headed forward.
The nature of this problem was kept largely secret because of its size and scope, and officials around the world did not want to tip off hackers who look for vulnerability access to computer systems.
But now the secret is out, yesterday a program that describes the flaw was posted on the Internet, and the news was electric, making the rounds of the online world in minutes.
Government and Internet Service providers located around the world have been working to solve the problem, but they are still wary as to whether a certain risk still exists.
The problem, called “DNS Cache poisoning” still may manifest itself, but officials are working to project and brainstorm methods of preventing the problem from hurting anyone on the Internet.
