MP3 And Other Free Samples To Mark Entry Into Marketplace
New York-The Rhapsody music service has been up to now a subscription based service, but it is changing its approach to compete directly with iTunes for both customers and market share.
Beginning June 30, 2008, RealNetworks Rhapsody music service has announced that is will be open for business with an MP3 store.
The new service does away with the former digital rights management approach that has been a placeholder for Rhapsody customers.
Instead Rhapsody has opened its ranks and is creating a brand new type of music ecosystem that will make it a lot simpler for listeners to buy and find music, and its hopeful that the concept will find wide embrace.
Rhapsody is entering into different partnerships with companies such as MTV and Yahoo, and it is looking to let users listen to music though social media.
Verizon will feature a deal in addition that will allow users to download music to the PC’s as soon as they purchase Rhapsody music for their telephones.
Rhapsody is boldly striking out to try and capture some of the customers from iTunes and feels that with their new partnerships and sales approach that they will be able to do so in short fashion.
