Nintendo Products Rule Retail Charts As Results Are Tallied

Kobe, Japan- The recent release of sales results for each of the main Game Systems and software continues to show the dominance of the Wii and DS systems by Nintendo.

Wii sales alone worldwide have contributed to sales of 18.61 million units in the last fiscal year, which amounts to over 24.5 million units that have sold since its release.

Nintendo is forecasting that between April of this year and March 2009 that it will sell an additional 25 million units around the world.

In particular the Wii Fit software success in Japan has bolstered the already high sales numbers. It is a fitness-training program that has been a hot seller in the Japanese nation, where it has sold over 1.85 million copies in recent months.

The Super Smash Brothers Brawl program has chipped in an additional software sales tally of 4.85 million units that were sold in the United States, and Japan. Additionally the titles Mario Party 8 and Super Mario Galaxy have also been major sales successes for Nintendo in recent months.

The success of handheld DS Nintendo brand units has also pushed Nintendo to the current front of the pack in overall computer game sales. Nintendo DS has sold over 30 million units in the last year, with over 70 million units being sold since it was first introduced.
