Paula Abdul has gone from judging to hosting.
After her recent departure from “American Idol”, Abdul has now landed her first gig hosting this year’s “VH1 Divas”. The news was announced by
Abdul herself via her Twitter page. She wrote “Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year’s ‘Vh1 Divas’! The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST,” she continued “This year’s VH1 Divas show will honor Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus- I am so excited!!”
“VH1 Divas” started up in 1998 and continues to raise funds for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on restoring music programs in public school throughout the U.S.
Since it began the concert has raised over $25 million. Paula Abdul has also been working on “Drop Dead Diva”, a series that will air on Lifetime.
She shot one episode before leaving “American Idol” and the second just after she left.
Her first episode will air on September 13 and the next on October 11.
