American country singer may be the next Supergirl?
Taylor Swift may hold the role in the new movie Supergirl.
An insider said “Hollywood is short of female heroes and the time is right for a new Supergirl. A number of young stars are being mentioned for the title role in a Supergirl movie and possible TV spin-off and Taylor is top of that list. She has all the right elements to be a positive role model to young girls.”
The new movie is a remake of the 1984 movie, which Helen Slater was in the lead role.
The 1984 film was not a very successful movie, but Hollywood experts are saying that if Taylor Swift is the lead role that will make a successful film. With the times being different and a young great female role model starring in it, it will be a hit!
Earlier this year Swift had been claimed the biggest winner of the evening at the Country Music Awards. She had received awards in all the categories she was nominated in.
Taylor made a statement after receiving the awards “I’ll never forget this moment because in this moment, everything I ever wanted has just happened to me.”
Taylor Swift was spotted walking around the city with straight hair and shaggy bangs last night while out in NYC.

They say she rocked her new look when she went out to dinner with Emma Stone the other night in New York City. Emma Stone starred in the recent Woody Harrelson comedy/horror movie, “Zombieland.”
Apparently Taylor Swift tweeted about the whole thing. She wrote, “Then we wandered around a candy store like wide-eyed little kids.” She also tweeted about her recent guest role on “CSI.”
Swift is currently riding a massive career high with awards and nomination and record sales.
The Grammy Nominations were announced Wednesday and Beyonce came out on top with 10 nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
Teen country star Taylor Swift took home eight nominations competing with Beyonce for Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
Also in the running in these categories are The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Kings of Leon. Completing the nominations for Album of the Year is the Dave Matthews Band and for Song of the Year is Maxwell.
Kayne West and R&B singer Maxwell each received six nominations as did The Black Eyed Peas.
The 52nd annual Grammy Awards will air on January 31st at the Staples Centre in L.A.

Taylor Swift is certainly having a good year so far – from her platinum selling album, to hosting SNL, to her much-deserved wins at the CMA Awards. Now – if she’s interested – she could also appear on The Vampire Diaries.
The show’s director, Kevin Williamson, expressed just how much he wants to put the fangs on this singer…
“I’m desperate to have [Swift] come play a vampire. Wouldn’t she make an amazing Kirsten Dunst circa Interview With the Vampire type? Oh my god, I cannot tell you how hard I’m trying to get her — I would kill to have her on the show!”
It would be interesting to see a country star dating a werewolf by day and turning into a bloodsucker at night.
The big winner at the 2009 Country Music Awards ceremony was 19 year old Taylor Swift. She made history by becoming the youngest artist to win the Country Music Associations entertainer of the year award. She was also the first female artist to win the award in 10 years.
Swift won in all four categories in which she was nominated, including female vocalist of the year, album of the year, “Fearless”, the top selling CD of the year, and finally, video of the year, “Love Story”.
Darius Rucker won as new artist of the year. His debut country album, “Learn to Live”, has sold over a million copies. The former Hootie and the Blowfish front man became only the 2nd African-American to win a Country Music Awards title. He was proceeded by Charlie Pride who won awards in 1971 and 1972.
Brad Paisley was named male vocalist of the year for a third straight year.
Lady Antebellum took home two awards, including single of the year, “I Run to You”, as well as vocal group of the year.
Duo of the year went to Sugarland.
And finally, song of the year was, “In Color”, written by Jamey Johnson, James Otto, and Lee Thomas Miller.

It was a big night for country music fans as the country Music Association honored the best in the Industry last night.
Darius Rucker became the first African American to be named best new artist at the Country Music Awards during a nationally-televised show Wednesday night.
Rucker, who hails from Charleston, beat out Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Jake Owen and the Zac Brown Band for the award.
“What a year,“ said a elated Rucker. “First of all, to the fans, thank you all for accepting me, and I think most importantly, to country radio, you took a chance on a pop singer from Charleston, South Carolina. Thank you so much for that!“
“I’m going to have a couple of beers tonight,” Rucker joked after the awards ceremony.
Rucker has now sold over 1 million copies of his debut country album, “Learn to Live.”
Taylor Swift walked away with four trophies at last night’s Country Music Awards in Nashville – including one for entertainer of the year. At 19, Taylor is the youngest artist in CMA history to win the award.
Swift also won album of the year, female vocalist of the year and video of the year for “Love Story.” Thankfully Kanye West wasn’t around to steal her thunder

Everyone agrees, country music star Taylor Swift did a fantastic job as SNL’s host and musical guest this past weekend.
Swft, 19, started off the night on a high note with this hilarious monologue song that had a little fun at Taylor’s expense…and Joe Jonas and of course Kanye West.
“You might think I’d bring up Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone. But I’m not gonna mention him. Hey, Joe. I’m doing really well. I’m hosting SNL.”
She then moved on to rumoured boyfriend, Twilight star Taylor Lautner, singing “If you’re wondering if I might be dating that werewolf from Twilight, I’m not gonna talk about that,” then playfully waving and mouthing “I love you” to the camera.
At the end of the song Swft added, “We have a great show. Kanye West is not here!”
Swift’s latest studio album, Fearless, was released in the United States on November 11, 2008. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.
Sorry Twilight fans, but teen heartthrob, Taylor Lautner might be taken!
Taylor Lautner and country music princes Taylor Swift went on a date Sunday night.
The two Taylors were spotted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles taking in a Kings game.
People magazine reports that Swift’s limo picked up Lautner from the airport and then headed to the hockey game.
The couple are currently filming the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day together, and have been spotted in public before.
Even with the confusing name, you couldn’t find a hotter couple on the planet right now.
Lautner can next be seen on the the big screen (shirtless) on November 20th in Twilight New Moon.
Jay Leno Show Guest Appearance By Kayne West
The Jay Leno Show premiered on Monday evening, September 14th. The final guest was Kayne West. This follows a controversial Sunday evening appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, where he rudely grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift. She was in the process of giving an acceptance speech for Best Female Video. West then proceeded to comment that Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. Swift was left stunned and shocked and could not finish her speech.
West requested an opportunity to speak with Leno prior to a performance of “Run This Town” with Rihanna and Jay-Z. West admitted he is dealing with the emotional pain of losing his mother. West indicated he is going to take some time off to confront his personal problems. He is quoted as saying, “I have to analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life and improve.” West also said he would like to apologize to Swift in person.
Leno asked when he knew when his behavior was wrong. West responded by saying, “As soon as I gave the mike back to her and she didn’t keep going.” Leno also asked West what his mother would have thought about the VMA episode. West couldn’t respond, he just sat silent for over 20 seconds.
Monday night almost 18 million viewers watched the premier of the Jay Leno Show. It can be speculated that a large number of these viewers were tuning in just to watch Kayne West.
West later apologize to Swift over the phone.
Kanye West Taylor Swift Incident, Set up?
Was the Kanye West/Taylor Swift incident a set up?
Let’s see, who would that have benefited? Well Taylor, as it seems more people have now heard about this teen country singer than would have if she had just given her speech and gotten off the stage.
Kanye West would benefit as well. Any publicity is good publicity. Lets not forget he was on the first episode of the Jay Leno Show the following night.
What do the masses think?
Has Kanye been known to make unsolicited outburst in the past? Check. Has he been known to look for attention from all angles always turning the spotlight from someone else to himself by being a total idiot? Check.
Were his actions totally rude and disrespectful to women? Check.
However, did most of the music world agree with his comment? Probably another check. But that is not the way things are done in the real world. Lady B (Beyonce) has awards coming out of her ears, not mention she doesn’t need Kanye to go to bat for her, she has a man!
It would have been nice if nobody would have mentioned the incident the next day just to show him that the world doesn’t revolve around him, but we know the media does not work that way.
It is time to move on. Kanye West, how about Kanye Rest!
