Patrick Swayze Frail but Still Fighting
Patrick Swayze, the Dirty Dancing star, is more frail. He is resting and spending most of his time at his Los Angeles home. Patrick and his wife Lisa are working on a his autobiography, “The Time of My Life”.
Patrick’s fight against pancreatic cancer, diagnosed early in 2008, has been a rocky road. In the past year, he has been receiving treatments at the Cedars Sinai Hospital. There have been improvements and setbacks. Recently, the star has been looking very frail, relying more on a wheelchair for mobility.
Throughout Patrick’s battle with cancer, he has upbeat, brave, and optimistic. He has already defied statistics by surviving more than a year after his diagnosis. The usual life span for patients with this type of cancer is only 6 months or less.
In keeping with his rugged cowboy image, Patrick wears a cowboy hat as a token of his will to fight. He is a fighter and adamant that he is not giving up.
Earlier this year there was an erroneous report that he had lost his battle against cancer and died. Patrick’s comment was “I am alive and plan on staying that way”. His courage is an inspiration to us all.
