In recent years, legendary actor Jon Voight has become as well known for his estrangement from his daughter, Angelina Jolie, as for his numerous movies. The actress and her father are reconciling after seven years of public feuding and estrangement. The father and daughter were photographed together in Venice, where 34 year-old Jolie is filming her latest movie, “The Tourist”, which also stars Johnny Depp.
The longstanding feud began in 2001, after Voight made a television appearance and spoke of Jolie’s “serious mental problems”. Jolie was furious with her father since she had recently adopted her first child, Maddox, and felt that the statements put the adoption in jeopardy. That year was also the last time the two were seen together, as co-stars in the movie “Tomb Raider”. In 2002, Jolie legally changed her name from Angelina Jolie Voight by dropping Voight from her full name.
However, recently the 71 year-old Voight has been in touch with Jolie, and has said they have been trying to mend their relationship since 2007. The trip to Venice was the first time they have been seen publicly together, alongside Jolie’s partner, actor Brad Pitt, and their six children. The family enjoyed sightseeing together in Italy.
According to reports Angelina Jolie is not a supporter of US President Barack Obama.
“She hates him,” a source close to the U.N. goodwill ambassador, 34, tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands now).
“She’s into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts. She thinks Obama is really a socialist in disguise,” adds the source.
Don’t expect Jolie to be showing up on Fox News anytime soon, unlike her Republican father Jon Voight.
“Angie isn’t Republican, but she thinks Obama is all smoke and mirrors,” the source says.
Jolie’s views are in stark contrast with her famous husband Brad Pitt who is a staunch supporer of the president.
“They get in nasty arguments all the time about it,” says the source. “She doesn’t respect Brad when it comes to politics, but, in the end, this won’t tear them apart.”
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have designed a fine jewelry collection for Asprey, which goes on sale this week. The line, themed around snakes and called “The Protector,” starts at $525; all proceeds go to support Jolie’s children’s charity.
The Hollywood power couple have created a line of called ‘The Protector’ which includes a series of snakes tangled up into earrings, rings, pendants and even snake goblets. So why snakes you may wonder?
The net proceeds will go to Education Partnership for Children of Conflict co-founded in 2006 by Jolie. Looks like there’s no trouble in this paradise.

Megan Fox has recently been quoted as saying “I’m not a tigress like Angelina Jolie”.
The star has often been compared to Angelina Jolie as she has similar looks but the Transformers star says she is very different.
Fox, 23, says that Angelina seems serious and stoic to her and that she is the opposite.
Megan said that when she does not interviews she tries to be funny, but has found that sometimes in a world of “sound bites” you cannot be.
Megan also says she often has doubts about her skills when it comes to being an actress something Oscar-winner Angelia Jolie does not. She also stated that she hates being compared to the Tomb Raider actress (Jolie). Megan has also been quoted that it’s been a crazy year for her and at times she feels like a sacrificial lamb as she is still learning the ropes of the acting proffesion.
Megan Fox also says she is not chasing fame. She is currently in the film Jonah Hex, which is based on the DC Comics of the same title.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their brood trick-or-treating in Hollywood last weekend.

Pitt, 45, dressed as DJ Lance Rock from the kids’ TV show “Yo Gabba Gabba.”
Jolie, 34, wen as a zombie (or vampire?). The busy mom dyed her hair grey and painted blood on the side of her face
Zahara, 4, wore a Batman costume, and toted a plastic pumpkin to collect candy. Maddox, 8, and Shiloh, 3, both sported camouflage/military-themed costumes. Pax, 5, was also present, but not photographed.
Left at home: 15-month-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
The Jolie-Pitts apparently had no security while they walked around the neighborhood. Pitt even drove the family himself.
RadarOnline reports that the couple were recognized by fellow trick-or-treaters, but they “had a blast.”
Angelina Jolie is keeping busy lately; she recently completed filming “Salt”, she’s set to star in “The Tourist” and is now in talks to star in Ridley Scott’s next film “Gucci”.
According to Variety the 34 year-old mother of six will play the role of Patrizia Gucci who was sentenced to 29 years in jail for plotting the murder of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci.
The film will revolve around the murder and the power struggle among the Gucci fashion empire back in the 1970s and 80s when they were reportedly selling $500 million of product every year.
The script has yet to be written but Scott is already said to be talking to Leonardo DiCaprio about starring in the role of Maurizio.
20th Century Fox is hoping to begin production in 2010.
