ESPN Reporter Shelley Smith Rushed To Hospital During Spurs And Warriors Game

ESPN reporter Shelley Smith tweeted “I’m good” Sunday night after she became ill after covering the Golden State Warrior-San Antonio Spurs playoff game.

Smith was taken to the hospital and was being evaluated for a possible stroke.

A Golden State team doctor helped Smith in the team’s locker room before she was transported to the hospital.

According to The AP, Smith, a breast-cancer survivor, was being evaluated at an East Bay hospital following the incident after which she was moved to a training room and tended to by a Warriors team doctor and team medical staff.

Warriors PR director Dan Martinez gave a shoutout to the medical-team members for their quick action, calling them “real-life frickin heroes.”

On Saturday, the Los Angeles Daily News featured Smith in an uplifting Mother’s Day story.
