Everyone has heard of Steve McNair, the former NFL Quarterback, but not everyone has heard of Steve McNair . Jr. but
Southern Mississippi has, and he chose them to play for.
In Feburary 2010 McNair Jr. will sign to play for the Golden Eagles. Answering questions as to why he decided to play for Southern Miss and turned down scholarships from Ole’ Miss, Nebraska, Minnesota and West Virginia, Steve McNair Jr. stated that he wanted to be close to his family and give them a chance to see him play.
He also felt very positive with the Golden Eagles coach Larry Fedora. McNair Jr. said that he loved the Southern Miss campus too, and so the decision was not a hard one to make.
Standing 6′1 and 195 pounds the wide reciever, has been a dominating player this fall for Oak Grove located in Hattisburg Mississippi catching 39 passes for 372 yards and three scores, while also rushing for 293 yards and passing for 141.
This is good news for McNair Jr, after the difficult year that he has had following the tragic murder of his father. Hopefully 2010 will be the start to a brighter future for a rising star in college football.
