New York Yankee fans certainly have a reason to celebrate.
This years World Series championship ended with a dramatic 7-3 win for the Yankees over the Philadelphia Phillies.
The win was made even sweeter because it was won at home in New York City.
This win marks the 27th World Series Championship title victory for the team.
A victory parade will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 to celebrate.
The parade begins at 11 a.m on Broadway at Battery Place and travels through the Canyon of Heroes, located in the financial district.
The parade will end at Chambers Street and be followed by a ceremony hosted by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The ceremony will be held at City Hall Plaza and the mayor will present the team with the Keys to the City. While the sidewalks lining the parade are open to the public, City Hall Plaza has very limited space and only ticket holders will be able to attend.
A large screen will be set up near City Hall Park so that the remaining proud fans and spectators can enjoy the ceremony.
