Canadian Manufacturer Will Emphasize New Touch Screen Unit

Toronto- The folks at Research in Motion, the perennial home to the famous Blackberry electronic messaging device have announced plans to push the new item on their horizon, the Blackberry Thunder.

Officials at RIM have said that they plan to highly tout their new product, which will be different than Blackberry Units offered in the past.

The exclusive carrier in Canada for the new Blackberry Thunder device will be Verizon, and both RIM and Verizon are excited about the proposed September release of the Thunder.

In the past, RIM has stuck pretty closely with the QWERTY and SureType keyboard approach, which has kept their devices among the most popular choices available.

But with the release of the Apple 3G iPhone, RIM and other telephone and cellular equipment manufacturers are feeling the pressure, and plan to offer at least some sort of touch screen equipment or touch screen options on their new devices.

RIM promises that touch screen access will be represented on the new Blackberry Thunder, but they do not say exactly how that will be done, nor are they expressive in what the new Blackberry Thunder will offer.

Blackberry Bold is also due for release, but its release is being at least partly pushed aside because of the push for the new Blackberry Thunder.

While not a great deal is known about the Thunder, it is expected to be a giant step forward for both Blackberry users, and for RIM in general.
