Lander Works To Begin Mission As Designed
Pasadena, California- After some initial concerns the Phoenix Lander of NASA is looking ready to begin its mission as scheduled on Mars.
There are a number or redundancy systems built in to the Phoenix, in case one system fails another can take over and take its place performing the mission.
So far this has not been needed, the Landers is working and performing flawlessly, much to the smiles and grins on the faces at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California.
“We have not needed any of the backup systems up to this point,†said Edward Sedivy.
Mr. Sedivy is the Lockheed Martin Space Systems Manager assigned to the Phoenix Lander Program, the company who built and designed the Mars lander.
Photographs have been released showing the Mars surface and the results so far from the Phoenix probe have been very promising.
The amount of information and pictures that the probe is relaying back to Earth has everyone associated with the project very excited. “It is a true delight and an engineer’s dream come true,†said Mission Project Manager Barry Goldstein.
The Phoenix Lander appears to be in excellent condition, as it prepares to dig and begin many of its missions on the Mars Surface.
