Nigeria (EON) – Children in Nigeria have been caught using their One Latop Per Child computer to visit porn sites on the internet.

The OLPC program is in place to try and bring new education opportunities for children but some school children are actually using their new laptops for other purposes.

Pornographic images were found on the donated laptops from a U.S. aid organization. It is not known yet whether or not the school children were caught going to the web sites to view the content or not but it is alarming to say the least.

The effort of the group is to put laptops into the hands of those who want to learn and who can use the technology to better themselves and their lives. The News Agency of Nigeria though reported that “Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials.”
