Man Drowns Trying To Save Kayakers
Lake Huron-The body of a Etobicoke man was discovered on the shore of Lake Huron near Kincardine late Sunday afternoon.

Three teens were kayaking when their canoe overturned Saturday about 5pm, and a man who saw the event from shore rushed into the water to help.

He was last seen as he rushed into the water near MacCaskill Road as he and another man tried to help the kayakers.

The three kayakers were being helped toward shore when the man slipped and went under the water.

One of the teenagers saw what happened and tried to grab him, but he was too heavy and got away, and disappeared under the water.

All three teenage kayakers and the other man who helped rescue them were able to make it safely to shore.

Police and fire rescue personnel were called and began a search of the shoreline, and the Coast Guard and civilians assisted in the search, as did members of the Kincardine Fire Department.

Searchers did not find the body, and darkness fell on Saturday night.

On Sunday the search began again, and the body was found late in the day on Sunday by a resident of the area by his cottage.

The mans name is not being released pending notification of relatives.
