Possible Links Examined When Man And Woman Found Dead

Ottawa- The police are investigating the discovery of Ryan Sawchuk, and Alicia Bateman, both 28 years of age, as possible murder suicide when they were found dead in a home in Ottawa.

Both young people were found in a house belonging to Ms. Bateman. The young couple had been sweethearts in high school and were planning a September wedding.

They had been living in Ottawa while Mr. Sawchuk was working toward a graduate business degree and attending university.

It is not known why the couple was killed, or by whom. Initial reports from police is that it is being looked at as a murder suicide, but investigation is continuing.

The family of both Bateman and Sawchuk were searching for answers at the news of the grisley deaths. Parents of both young people as well as other relatives did not know of any reason why either of them would have wanted to end their lives.

A neighbour of Ms. Bateman, Valerie Pepit lived across the street from her for several years and described Alicia Bateman as a quiet girl who mostly kept to herself.

Ms. Bateman was further described as an attractive girl who was active in her community. Police have not released the cause of death or any other details in the deaths.
