Teen Student Sets Up Anonymous Inter University Study Group
Toronto- As the situation at Ryerson University continues onward without a clear verdict, there are many that are in support of Ryerson student Chris Avenir, and his efforts to set up an online study group using his Facebook web site.
One such effort has been started by a Thornhill high school graduate. Evgeny Kalasknikov, age 18 years. He is basing the online Internet study group on the idea began by Mr. Avenir. It is a study group where students can log on and share study material and homework on material covered by a number of courses.
Students can do so anonymously, so they are not facing scrutiny if they don’t want any. Mr. Kalasknikov maintains that it is not meant to promote cheating or be dishonest in any way, but says it will help student to study more effectively.
“My Web site is not meant to encourage cheating, but to make the flow of information and study easier for all students,†said Mr. Kalashnikov. The study online group being set up by him will be province wide, and access to all 18 University and colleges in the province will be part of the goal of the website.
“Students are running scared, so they can post without names if they wish on my new web site on the Internet,†said Mr. Kalasknikov.
Details of the appeal in the Ryerson University issue are expected to be released today, but not until the committee informs Chris Avenir privately first. If things go negatively and against Mr. Avenir he still has one last changes at an appeal with the Ryerson University Faculty Committee.
Mr. Avenir will have 10 days to mount an appeal from the announcement of the status of his current appeal.
