Toronto Police are looking for an arsonist after four fires were deliberately set in Bloor West Village.

The first fire appears to have started near Runnymede and Annette, where a skid was set on fire. The arsonist is thought to have moved westward from there, setting three vehicles ablaze. In one case, a propane tank is thought to have been thrown into one of the vehicles, which was parked in a garage in a rear lane-way.

Police aren’t sure if the person behind these fires is responsible several others in Toronto neighbourhoods in recent weeks. Over the Canada Day weekend, seven homes, garages and vehicles were set on fire in the Christie Pits area. The damage estimate from those incidents is pegged at over $2-million. Cabbagetown and South Etobicoke are other neighbourhoods that have seen recent arson cases. No word if they are all connected.
