Shooting Leads To Police Chase On The 400  Near Orillia

Highway 400 was reopened shortly before 8 am on Wednesday morning, north of Toronto, after a shutdown of just over an hour northbound at Innisfil Beach, A police prosecution.

At least a dozen Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) police officers and the Toronto Police Service were involved.

The suspect was eventually arrested in Orillia.

The Toronto Police said the man had previously attacked a 60-year-old woman and opened fire on a woman in the north of the metropolis at about 6:30 am on Wednesday morning. He also allegedly shot officers who intervened in connection with the shooting, before fleeing on August 400 with the vehicle of the victim.

The woman in her fifties was rushed to the hospital.
