The Toronto police confirmed that the girl who had been missing since 6 am on Friday morning was found safe and healthy a few hours later.
TORONTO – According to Toronto police, the little girl’s mother had left her car in front of her house with the little girl on board while she was fetching her second child inside.
Someone then stole the vehicle with the girl still on board.
After receiving a tip from the public, police found the girl inside a car abandoned in a parking lot. The car was open with the engine still running. They are not disclosing the location where the car was found.
Four-year-old Christina Nguyen was found safe inside. Paramedics are now attending to her
“Somebody walking by found the car,” Det. Ranbir Dhillon said. “It’s running. She’s inside, and our officers got on scene, confirmed that she’s inside.”
The Amber alert was lifted.
The suspect still remains at large.
Authorities are once again warning people, especially parents, to never leave the car running outside unattended.
“Do not leave your children in the car running,” Dhillon said. “You should be there with your child, especially if they’re this young. Do not leave your child in a car alone ever.”
