Missing Woman Found After 18 Years
In an amazing turn of events for one southern California family, a woman who was abducted eighteen years ago, as a child, has been found and identified.
The woman, Jaycee Lee Dugard, was abducted in 1991 by two men in a sedan as she walked to her school bus as an 11-year-old girl.
“1991 kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard has been located in good health in the greater Bay Area of California,” an El Dorado County Sheriff’s spokesman said in a brief written statement.
The crime has been one of the nation’s most notorious unsolved mysteries, and her family had been resigned to the fact that they would never see her again.
This week, she walked into a police station and identified herself.
After speaking to her family, they believe that she is, in fact, their daughter, and are making arrangements to be reunited with her. A couple in is custody in the kidnapping.
Two people, whose identities have not been released, were taken into custody in connection to the abduction
