Denver, Colorado-At least 85 campers at a Grand County YMCA camp have been stricken with some sort of stomach virus.

At least 72 campers and over 15 staff members have fallen ill in what appears to be some sort of Stomach virus.

Nearly 180 children ranging in age from 8 years to 17 years old were sent home from the Rocky Mountain National Park YMCA Camp, Camp Chief Ouray.

The 85 people who fell ill with the stomach virus were kept quarantined at the camp for 24 hours until the effects of the unknown virus wore off, and then were sent home also.

The YMCA camp Chief Ouray is operated by the YMCA of the Rockies and it will be closed as soon as everyone vacates after this current illness, and then will be completely scrubbed down and sanitized so that it can safely operate for the next camp session.

The cleaning and sanitation is being supervised by state and local officials so that the camp can safely re open for its next camping session, which is scheduled for June 29th.

No one knows the precise cause of the current stomach virus, but the camp will be completely sterilized so that no one gets sick again.
