Moscow (EON) – The Russian Andrei Lugovoy, named as a suspect in the murder of a former KGB agent by the name of Litvinenko is going into politics and will run for the Parliament of Russia in December.
He is on the slate of the radical nationalist party. Lugovoy is going to be the No. 2 name on the lisit of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.
Lugovoy stated that “I have accepted the offer to be on the party’s election list. I was a businessman, but no longer, thanks to the disgusting police of British prosecutors that led to this political hysteria. With the situation being highly politicized by British opponents, I find myself in the midst of a political wave of interest in me.”
Parliament members cannot be prosecuted and it is clear that Lugovoy is trying to ride the wave of fame right into Parliament. He is accused of killing Alexander Litvinenko with a rare radioactive isotope on November 1st when they met in London.
Britain officials have yet to release any details which place direct guilt on Lugovoy.
