Kabul (EON) – The president of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, is considering to put an emergency rule in place putting Pakistan in a state of emergency due to a total breakdown of their national security.
The Pakistani president Musharraf has stated that there has been an immense amount of threats which continue to grow. These threats are promising violence by Islamic extremists.
The president has already canceled a planned trip to visit the capital of Afghanistan which was planned months ago. The reason for the cancelation was simply because there are too many problems in Pakistan to leave right now.
A spokesman for Musharraf stated that “Given the external and internal threats we are facing, especially on the border areas, the possibility of emergency cannot be ruled out.”
The spokesman stated though that the president Musharraf has no plans to suspend citizens’ rights.
