Baghdad (EON) – The negotiations which continue to go on between the Taliban have taken a turn for the worse as the 23 South Korean hostages may be in trouble.
The talks which were an attempt to try and free the 23 South Korean hostages have taken a bad turn as they have completely collapsed. This is according to Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf. He stated that the patience of the Taliban is running out and that the authorities need to meet their demands and make up their minds.
An Al Jazeera correspondent James Bays stated that the negotiations have come to a standstill. He stated “It’s very worrying news … It’s different because before, when there were deadlines, there was the prospect of negotiations.”
Now there is no negotiation taking place at all as three deadlines have come and gone with no consequences but no progress either. The Taliban are demanding that eight Taliban members held in jails in Afghanistan be released. In return they will release the same number of hostages, eight.
