University Of Rochester Gets Massive Grant To Fight Colon Cancer

The University of Rochester recently received an $840,000 research grant from the American Cancer Society. The objective is to show how some bacteria can cause colon cancer to spread. In spite some major breakthroughs in cancer research a cure for colon cancer still continues to elude researchers to this very day.
In an effort to increase awareness and raise money to pay for research the American Cancer Society continues to battle this deadly disease head on. Its primary purpose is to raise money for a cure and remember those who have lost their battle to this deadly disease. They have many different events to help raise awareness for cancer research two of the more popular events includes: the Rally for Life and the American Cancer Research Benefit. These events which take place across the country bring together like minded people, survivors, families and volunteers who care. Rarely can you find an organization where the common goal of finding a cure is the sole focus of these driven yet caring individuals. As Pat Payne said at the 25th Annual Cancer Research Benefit Contest, “I hooked up with the American Cancer Society because I have a very deep feeling for them because of my mother and brother. There’s hardly anybody anymore who doesn’t have a touch of cancer in their families somewhere.â€
What this clearly shows is that no matter what happens it is only a matter of time until a cure for all major forms of Cancer is found. Whenever you have organizations dedicated to finding a cure, this kind of conviction can move mountains. The latest evidence of this determination is the grant to the University of Rochester, which can hopefully bring us one step closer to a cure.
