Puts Others On Notice He Is Serious About Health Care Reforms

New Brunswick- Health Minister Michael Murphy spoke out last Thursday about the health reforms that are beginning to take place in New Brunswick.

His frank and no nonsense approach is a welcome change to much of what has been the typical bluster and stalling from many different players in the health care system.

Minister Murphy talked about the need for “a progressive partnership in the war against long health care wait times” and the need to cut through the massive red tape in New Brunswick Health Care.

For many years different types of Special Interest groups have held sway in how the overall health care is administered in New Brunswick, but with the announcement by Health Minister Murphy, he basically put these groups and others on notice.

He declared that the government must take back positive health control for the good of the system and ultimately for the clients and health care patience.

He is calling for increased positive levels of care, and fair and equal access, as well as competition where if some issues, such as diagnostic imaging, can be accomplished better and more inexpensively by private firms, then they should be allowed and encouraged to compete for health care access.
