Lack Of Strategy Angers House Leader Laurie Blakeman
Ottawa- The lack of a strategy on the part of the Federal Canadian Government to help out with people in Alberta, and across Canada that have Sexually Transmitted Diseases has angered House Liberal Leader Laurie Blakeman.
“We are in the third millennium, and yet we are still dealing with levels of STD’s and syphilis that are high, how can this be?†said Blakeman.
“We have the money and the means but yet nothing is happening,†charged Blakeman.
Representative of the House Blakeman charges that nothing is happening and that the high levels of STD’s are being allowed, which is causing disease such as congenital syphilis to spread to alarming levels.
The top Medical official in Alberta, Acting Deputy Chief Dr. Richard Musto has stated that Alberta has the highest rate of syphilis in Canada, in the last three years there have been a number of infant deaths from syphilis.
According to Dr. Musto, five babies have died shortly after birth from the disease, with another nine born with the disease that horribly affected their health.
The Canadian Medical Association lists nine Alberta women, five of whom are involved in the illicit sex trade, all gave birth to syphilis infected babies in 2005 and 2006.
