The FBI had a large amount of evidence and data from the 2001 Anthrax attack that wound up killing several people and causing a large amount of panic in the days after the September 11th , 2001 tragedies.
In the end it was simple human DNA traces that led back to one of the scientists that were investigating the Anthrax attacks.
FBI agents and Federal investigators were zeroing in on Dr. Ivins, one of the scientists that helped investigate the Anthrax attacks, when Dr. Invins decided to take his own life last week.
He was actually help develop a vaccine to combat anthrax, and now federal investigators believe he is the sole author and source of the Anthrax that was sent to different locations in and around the Washington D.C. and Capitol area.
Many people in the public sector and Government were scared to open packages and mail after the letter bombs bearing white Anthrax powder was discovered.
The case cracker and genetic fingerprint that the FBI used to lead back to Dr. Ivins remain in different court documents that are sealed.
The case of the Anthrax attacks may be closed because of Dr, Ivins suicide, because at this point he is believed to be the only perpetrator.
