Eli Lily Prepares To Release Results From Protein Dissolving Medicine
Indianapolis- The makers of a potential new Alzheimer’s disease drug are poised to release new results from their ongoing drug study.
The mid-stage drug testing results from Eli Lily are upbeat and positive, and generally bode well for the new drug that Eli Lily eventually hopes to successfully market to fight Alzheimer’s Disease.
The new drug does not have a name yet, and the clinical trials are at their midpoint, but it is a protein busting drug that is apparently successful so far in trials at helping dissolve some of the built of plaque that occurs often in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.
It is this plaque that is often thought to be partly responsible for causing many of the symptoms of the Alzheimer’s disease.
Eli Lily is pushing aggressively in drug research searching for a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and a number of other such diseases.
They have another drug that is nearing the final testing stages, and it is also an anti plaque forming medication that will assist in preventing many Alzheimer’s disease symptoms.
Spokeswoman Christine Van Marter says that the company is enrolling volunteers for a 1,500 patient clinical trial that will take about 21 months to compete.
