Conference This Week Highlights New Brain Therapy Treatments
Chicago-There is a large conference being held in Chicago this week, where many of the worlds experts are gathering to speak and compare notes on treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease.
One of the new treatments deals with fighting the build of plague in the brain, and it involves a drug called AL 108, that is an actual nasal spray.
Early testing is showing promising in attacking the plague and fiber tangles in the brain, and the use of AL 108 nasal spray also is showing promise in boosting short term memory.
It does not have any apparent side effects, so it’s a new treatment that shows a great deal of hope.
Testing for the new drug is at stage 2, so while a cure is not exactly just around the corner it still is an exciting drug that is in the midst of testing.
There is an apparent new PET scan test for alzheimer’s that has generated a lot of excitement.
PET scans have been used to detect early cancers in the past, and the researchers are looking for ways that possibly Alzheimer’s diseases can be early diagnosed.
