
Confirmed Patient Case In Texas Brings Count This Season To Two
El Paso, TX-Resident of El Paso County Texas and the surrounding region are urging people to avoid being stung by mosquitoes as the second confirmed case of West Nile has been found.
The case is a 23-year-old man from San Elizario, but other than confirmation that is is suffering from the West Nile Virus there is not a lot of additional information about him available.
Symptoms of West Nile Virus include lethargy, nausea, fever, muscle aches and headache, as well as other various symptoms according to the CDC.
There are a number of other health concerns from contracting West Nile Virus, it can lead into meningitis and encephalitis, both conditions dealing with swelling and inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.\
There currently is no cure for the virus, and the easiest prevention step is to not allow mosquitoes to land and feed on you.
Vector control crews have been working throughout El Paso currently to spray and work to eradicate as much of the mosquito problems as possible.
The virus spread had been reduced but not eliminated.
Continued vigilance will make a different, and health officials urge the pubic to maintain good sanitary procedures that include frequent hand Washing.
