Facility Advises Citizens To Use Cell Phones Sparingly
Pittsburgh- One of the leading Cancer research centers in the United States has issues a warning to its workers and faculty regarding Cellular telephone usage.
The warning came from the top, the head of the Cancer institute program at the University of Pittsburgh and a respected cancer researcher, Dr. Ronald B. Herberman.
While there is no direct link or study that shows that cell phone use is dangerous, according to the memo that Dr. Herberman sent out to his staff, its too early to declare cell phones safe.
Cell phones have not been in use for a long time, with their fairly recent advent and invention, so Dr. Herberman is issuing a warning and saying that its better to be safe than sorry.
Dr. Herberman believes that Cell phones may contribute to brain tumors due to electromagnetic waves that the cell phones give off, and he thinks it is important to use them only when necessary, especially for children.
His theory is that in kids their brains are still developing and that we simply as a society and a people do not have long term data that says cell phones are safe.
